The upgraded components have the same UV/IR properties as the previous Full Spectrum components but allows more peripheral light in to the camera/camcorder thus making it brighter. UV PHOTOGRAPHY CALLS FOR LONGER EXPOSURE TIMES FOR STILL PICTURES AND A BRIGHT UV SOURCE FOR VIDEO. THIS CAMERA DOES NOT HAVE AN EXPOSURE TIME FEATURE, HOWEVER SOME IMAGE SETTINGS (such as the EV, ISO and WB setting) WILL FOOL THE CAMERA TO ACCEPT MORE UV LIGHT.
This is our second successful camcorder project with more research and development added from the previous full spectrum technology project. The focus being wavelengths, densities and functionality. The results of this project are more than spectacular. Please keep in mind that due to the camera's CMOS chip design, the camera can only see a portion of the UV wavelength between 320nm and 400nm (Ultraviolet), this is called UV/A light. The effect is very powerful though as humans cannot see UV/A and ghosts are known to reside beyond human vision. The theory for UV and ghostly phenomenon is founded on what you see from the corner of your eye as this portion of your eye has the capability to see more UV/A than the front portion of your eye. On the Infrared side, this particular filter allows Infrared light to pass through however it was reduced a bit in order to compensate for overexposure to the UV. This is crucial when designing UV/IR Full Spectrum filters. Please view our lab chart below.
As you can see from the chart above, the UV part of the filter (on the left) is quite extensive. The visible light is blocked and the Infrared part goes beyond 650nm to the 1200nm range but is allowed to enter the lens but is less dense because the IR light would overexpose the camcorder's CMOS chip thus overtaking the UV portion. The IR portion of the filter highlights the same wavelength areas where ghosts reside, much like our DEEP IR technology. SPECIAL NOTE! OUR TEST RESULTS HAVE SHOWN THAT A PORTION OF THE UV/A SPECTRUM (320nm to 400nm) CAN BE DETECTED BY THIS CAMCORDER. THIS IS GOOD ENOUGH TO CALL IT A FULL SPECTRUM CAMCORDER WHERE A PORTION OF THE UV SPECTRUM IS SEEN. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT MANUFACTURE THIS CAMCORDER, ONLY CONVERT IT. OUR LAB TESTS RESULTS SHOWN IN THE CHART ABOVE COULD NOT BE VISIBLY DEMONSTRATED, THEREFORE WE DEVISED WAYS TO DEMONSTRATE THE CAMERA'S UV AND IR CAPABILITIES THROUGH A VARIETY OF THE FOLLOWING VISUAL TESTS. Below you will see two comparison pictures of the same exact flowers. The pictures on the left were taken with our normal HD camcorder in still picture mode (not converted), the ones on the right were taken with our FULL SPECTRUM camcorder in still picture mode (converted). The lens and CMOS chip (camcorder's electronic eye) is the same. Unfortunately we got too close and UV is of a different wavelength so the pictures on the right are a little blurry, this is a physical property of UV. You can clearly see that the pictures on the right contain dark spots or lines that point to the center of each flower. This is the UV color produced by these flowers for insect pollination. UV is difficult to capture in still pictures because of the light's long wavelength, therefore a long exposure is needed in order to highlight more prominent UV patterns, however, the basic concept is proven here. It works.
UV markings in the flower help pollinating insects like bees find the core of the flower where the pollen is contained.
PURE UV TESTS CONDUCTED ON THE T-700 We needed to further prove that our Full Spectrum filter would allow the T-700's to see further in to the the UV/A spectrum with more clarity than our previous projects. Our optical engineer overlapped IR blocking filters to our Full Spectrum filter so that only UV light would come through the lens. No visible light and no Infrared light, just pure UV. The overlap procedure made the lens go out of focus a bit though. Normally, in macro mode, the T-700 does not go out of focus with this filter. The picture below was taken with this modified overlapped Full Spectrum filter and the T-700. The results were phenomenal as the center of the flower below shows dark markings on its petals and a very dark center. Normal light shows this flower with bright white petals and a yellow center. The UV portion of this flower shows up very nicely. This test shows that the T-700 has more UV/A sensitivity.
We are fortunate here in Florida where rainbows appear almost on a daily basis if you know where to look. The picture below shows what may look like a bright cloud or possibly the sun, but this is an atmospheric refraction caused by upper level moisture in a cloud causing a rainbow effect. A rainbow is nature's perfect prism where UV, normal light and IR light is brightly displayed. We used the same T-700 with the same modified special overlapped UV filter to take the picture you see below and caught a UV reflection stream. The left side of this arced rainbow is where the UV portion resides. Notice inside the circled spot what looks like a stream of gas emanating from the left side. This is not part of the cloud but light particles emitting UV light beyond the rainbow cloud being reflected by the atmosphere. This faint stream of light proves the exceptional UV capabilities of the T-700. Even though it's a low priced digital unit, this exceptional camera and our filter technology makes this a great Full Spectrum combination. Finally, note the arc left of the bright spot, you will see a blue streak all the way to the left. That's the Ultraviolet area of the rainbow.

WANT TO SEE THE INFRARED NOW? The picture below was taken with our FULL SPECTRUM camera/camcorder. You will notice the bluish glow on the iron's hot shank, this is the Infrared portion of the FULL SPECTRUM camcorder picking up the temperature variations. The bluish light you see in the background is actually an Infrared remote control light, the blue hue is due to the FULL SPECTRUM filter, notice the blue and red highlights in the light reflected. We wanted to show that this is not a fake blue filter therefore we made sure to use a soldering iron with a red light. The reddish light shows up in the near IR spectrum. If this was a fake blue filter everything would look blue.
LOOK AT THE STUNNING PICTURES THIS CAMCORDER IS CAPABLE OF CAPTURING. VIDEOS WILL LOOK THE SAME AS THE CAMERA'S LENS, FILTER AND CHIP ARE USED IN BOTH MODES. Below is a picture of St. Augustine's central square. We wanted to highlight one important Infrared point, like our DEEP IR technology, our FULL SPECTRUM technology shows variations in temperature as the upper cooler sky is darker than the lower, warmer sky, albeit not as prominent because the IR density has been lessened but still there! Note the slight bluish tint to the reddish color? That's the Sun's UV/A rays blanketing the area.
The tombstone below shows various markings not seen by the naked eye. Some markings show up in Infrared and some in Ultraviolet.
